Sorry everyone...we just finally got our internet hooked up and now that I have the computer from the move, I am able to post new pictures! These last two months have been a whirlwind! We are so thankful to be around family and old friends. We couldn't have done it without them....so, a BIG THANK YOU to you! We went to the Mariner's game last weekend for Tanner's birthday with his friend from work Roy, his wife Angie, and their daughter Teagan. We had a great time until the 8th inning where Addy had enough already! Amazingly, she did better than we thought she would for her age.

Walker Wagon

Addy got a new walker wagon this week. We thought we should get her something for being such a good little girl these past couple weeks. Tanner put it together and had it waiting for us on Tuesday night when we got home from day care. As you can see, she didn't know quite what to think of it! Her many faces just keep us laughing all night long. By the next morning, she had figured it out how to walk better with it and was having a blast doing so.

Addy surgery went very well. She was so happy and very talkative in the playroom prior to surgery. She was in the OR by 8:00 am, back in our arms by 8:15 and we were on the road home by 8:45....crazy! She was pretty tired and fussy for the rest of the day, but who wouldn't be! So far she hasn't had any complications from the surgery. What a champ!

Addy missed green Cool Whip day at day care on Wednesday, so we had a little fun at home doing the same thing. First, she didn't know what to think. Then, she really liked it and then about one minute later she had enough. This only lasted a span of 3 minutes or so, but overall she had a blast. However, cleaning up sticky, warm Cool Whip...especially in her neck would be an entirely different experience that I just didn't want to capture with the camera.

Addy turned 9 months on Sunday. Her 9 month well child check is on Wednesday so we don't have her exact height and weight yet, but at home she was 19 lbs 13 ounces and 27 1/2 inches long. She is such a happy girl and she is really beginning to talk. We still don't have any teeth yet, but I do feel something along the bottom! This is such a fun time for us! We've decided to proceed with Addy's ear surgery and her surgery is scheduled for April 8th. We hope that this will help with her speech and balance. Wish us luck!

Some News

Addy had an appointment with Dr. Rone, an ear, nose, throat specialist today because she has had 4 ear infections since November 2008. The doctor gave us two options on how to continue with Addy's ear infections. Option A - continue to treat ear infections with antibiotics or Option B - myringotomy tubes (ear tubes). The doctor was fabulous today about explaining why Addy is getting frequent ear infections and even went as far as doing a hearing test during the exam. Addy just got over her recent ear infection on Sunday and as of today, still has fluid behind her ears. She also has a 5-10% hearing loss due to the fluid behind her ears. So, Tanner and I are praying that we make the right decision and what is best for Addy. We hope to have our decision made by the end of this week.

Addy turned 8 months today. She weighs 19 1/2 lbs with clothes and a diaper on and is roughly 27 inches long. We work on tummy time everyday since she absolutely hates being on her tummy now. Funny how for the first few months of life, she wanted nothing more than to sleep on her tummy. She is a very particular little girl and will definitely let you know when she does not like something! She would much rather stand than to work on crawling. She would much rather eat finger foods now that to eat 2nd baby food. I'm telling you....we are in trouble and have our work cut out for us!!

Addy turned 7 months on the 15th. We can't believe how big she is getting and how fast time has gone by. She is such a happy baby! This month she LOVED to rock back and forth on Buttercup the Cow. She even tried rock all by herself, but it didn't quite work because she was trying to jump up and down like she does in her jumperoo. Too funny!

Can I just say that our little Addy is such a character? She is into putting ANYTHING in her mouth and this also includes rubber bands for my hair. She did this the other night while having some tummy time on Tanner's lap. She just kept it in her mouth the whole time! Please excuse her face, she just got done eating dinner and we were getting ready to take her up for a bath....this is why her face is not clean. Looking at these pictures, she looks like one of those bulls with the rings in their noses....well, except much cuter!!

Christmas 2008

Christmas 2008 was very interesting time of year for us. We had some scary moments with Brighton and Addy being sick during December. With God watching over them, we were blessed that both of them regained their strength by Christmas and that we were able to be together as a family. Especially Brighton, we were very worried that he wasn't going to make it....he is our Christmas Miracle! Also, during this stressful time in our lives, we had over 2 feet of snow fall here in western Washington over the course of a few days. And to top it all off, on Christmas night, I was on-call at the hospital. On my way in to assist with an urgent matter, my Subaru hit ice and I did a complete 360 while still moving forward in the middle of the road. Again, being blessed by God in so many ways, I was not injured nor was the vehicle damaged. I was still able to make the 30 minute drive into work to help save the patient's life. We have so much to be thankful for this year. We are so blessed! Here are some pictures of our Christmas...enjoy!

Seattle area never gets snow! We have had some really heavy snow the last few days...at least 12 inches and we are expected to get more over the weekend. We had a chance to put Addy in her snowsuit and get some pictures of her making her first snow angel!

Addy and I helped make cookies on December 13th with some of my friends from work. Ashley was a fantastic hostess and we made some VERY GOOD cookies....well, mostly my friends did. Addy is always wanting to drink out of my Nalgene water bottle after I get done drinking out of it. I usually take a sip out of my water bottle and then let her try it (not really giving her anything to drink). It is so cute to watch! So, today I thought we would attempt her sippy cup and some juice (her first juice experience). She loved the sippy cup, but didn't know what to think about the stuff inside of it! Pretty soon, she was going to town and juice was dribbling onto her shirt. Now we just have to work on her holding the cup herself!

I caught Addy last night having some good belly laughs at Brighton. Brighton was barking at me and I ended up making silly faces at her every time he barked, which made her laugh continuously for about 5 minutes....it was super cute! I caught a good laugh at the very beginning of the video, but after that, it is really hard to hear her because Brighton is SO LOUD! We had fun and wanted to share this with you guys. We decided to venture out today and drove 2 hours into the Cascade Mountain range. Tanner took us to the Snoqualmie Falls, then to the Pacific Crest Trail, and finally to the Yakima River to go fly fishing. Addy caught her first trout at 4 months and the fishing adventure only lasted about 30 minutes. We had a great time and she did fabulous the whole trip!

Katie Hollar came to visit us yesterday in Washington. She was in town for work and had the opportunity to pay us a visit! It was great seeing her!! Addy and Katie bonded well and this was my first friend from Kansas to meet her. We decided to take her to the farmer's market today which is about all we have to offer here in the fabulous small town of Olympia! Katie, we hope you have a great trip while you are here in Washington....see you in a month!

Again, this is a three part series. We started Addy on rice cereal last night and it lasted all of about 2 minutes! She is so funny to watch. It is hard to tell what she hates more, the texture, the taste, or the fact that it just isn't breast milk! I think I made it too thick last night, plus I used water instead of breast milk. We are going to try and do a few things different tonight! Wish us luck!!

Last Day with Uncle Ryan and Karla

Today was Addyson's last day with Ryan and Karla. We are very sad because we enjoyed having them here. Addy loved to laugh at Uncle Ryan...he was very entertaining! We will miss you guys! Addy also had her 4 month check up with her pediatrician and she weighed 15 lbs 4 oz and is 24 3/4 inches long. She is 90th percentile for both height and weight. Also, last night Addy discovered something new....her voice!! She is VERY talkative now. She use to babble and coo before, but now she is very vocal and even seems to scream sometimes. We think she just likes to hear herself talk! It is very cute and amazing to see the transformation she has gone through in such a short amount of time!

We are slowly recovering...she is doing better than I am! We are trying to get ready for Uncle Ryan and his girlfriend Karla who are coming this week.
